Welcome to Calvary Cemetery

Welcome to Calvary Cemetery

Today, this consecrated ground is the city's only Catholic cemetery and continues to be the choice of those who want affordable quality and the peace of mind of knowing that they and their loved ones will be cared for with respect and dignity.

Established in 1857, 70 plus acres of consecrated ground has been the burial place for Springfield area Catholics.  A dedicated staff strives to maintain beauty and order for those interred and those coming to visit, pray, reflect, and pay tribute to loved ones.

Those interred at Calvary Cemetery are Religious Sisters, beloved Priests, and Catholic families that were instrumental in the establishment of Springfield commerce, industry, agriculture, and education.  A Memorial Day Field Mass is held annually at the Father Howard altar in honor of those that have served before us.

Calvary Cemetery is filled with the histories of generations of our forebears and has always been more than just a final resting place. It is a quiet refuge to reflect upon the lives lived and the promise of being reunited eternally.
